About the Company & Product

We are a rapidly growing product company entering the global gaming entertainment market. Our mission is to bring innovative business solutions to the iGaming industry by building cutting-edge technology products. Our core product is a SaaS gaming platform with 200+ microservices that powers a seamless gaming experience for millions of users worldwide. The platform provides a full suite of iGaming solutions, including game management, payments, analytics, CRM, and more.

Meet Your Future Team

We have an open management culture where leaders share a clear product vision rather than simply assigning tasks. We believe people do their best work when they understand where the team is going and why their contribution matters. Initiative is always welcome, and everyone is encouraged to share ideas, suggest improvements, and influence how things are built.

Ready for a career upgrade?

We’re continuing to scale our platform across new brands, markets, and jurisdictions, and we’re looking for a Head of Engineering, Core Platform to define and drive the technical strategy, architecture, and engineering standards for an ecosystem of 200+ microservices. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Head of Product and be responsible for the technical health, architectural direction, and engineering excellence of the platform across 6+ engineering teams (40+ specialists, including architects, Tech Leads, Backend, Frontend, and QA Engineers).

Your mission is to build and evolve the technical foundation that enables delivery: defining the platform architecture, establishing engineering standards and best practices, managing technical debt, and shaping the long-term technical strategy.

You’ll work closely with the SRE team, Delivery Managers, and Product organization, while serving as the single point of accountability for the platform’s technical direction.

What you’ll be doing
  • Own and drive the technical strategy and architectural vision for a platform consisting of 200+ microservices;

  • Make key architectural decisions and ensure their consistent implementation across multiple engineering teams.

  • Maintain clear visibility into the platform’s architectural and technical debt, while defining and executing a realistic, prioritized roadmap for addressing it;

  • Define and evolve platform-wide engineering standards, including service design, API contracts, data ownership, and inter-service communication patterns;

  • Design APIs with a deep understanding of consumer needs, ensuring they effectively support SPA, SSR/Node.js, and Mobile applications;

  • Own and champion the platform’s non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, reliability, security, and compliance;

  • Establish and continuously improve engineering standards across the organization, including code quality, testing strategies, code reviews, observability, and release practices;

  • Define and govern the architecture governance framework, ensuring architectural proposals are documented, reviewed, approved, and consistently tracked across engineering teams;

  • Drive comprehensive platform documentation, including architecture overviews, service catalogs, runbooks, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs);

  • Continuously improve the developer experience (DevEx) and engineering productivity by optimizing platform tooling, workflows, and development practices;

  • Partner closely with DevOps and SRE teams to drive platform reliability, observability, infrastructure roadmap planning, and incident response;

  • Align the technical strategy with the product roadmap in collaboration with Delivery Managers and Product leadership, ensuring architectural decisions are driven by business value rather than engineering elegance;

  • Represent Engineering in cross-functional leadership discussions and quarterly planning sessions, providing technical direction and long-term platform vision;

  • Serve as the final escalation point and decision-maker for architectural disagreements across teams, making informed decisions even without full consensus while clearly communicating the rationale to both engineering and business stakeholders;

  • Provide technical leadership and enable the growth of the engineering organization, including Architects, Tech Leads, and Senior Backend, Frontend, and QA Engineers;

  • Mentor and develop Tech Leads, QA Leads, and Architects by setting clear expectations, defining growth goals, and providing continuous coaching;

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to hire Senior and Lead-level engineers, continuously raising the technical bar and strengthening engineering excellence across the platform.

You have these superpowers
  • 3+ years of experience as a Head of Engineering, CTO, Engineering Director, or Senior Engineering Manager in a product company;

  • Proven experience leading multi-team engineering organizations of 15+ engineers.

  • A strong hands-on engineering background, having previously worked as an Architect, Principal/Staff Engineer, or Senior Tech Lead before transitioning into engineering leadership;

  • Comfortable staying close to the codebase, with the ability and willingness to jump into the repository to debug production incidents, build prototypes, or perform critical code reviews when needed;

  • Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures, including microservices, event-driven systems, and asynchronous messaging;

  • Hands-on experience operating and evolving production workloads on Kubernetes in GCP and/or AWSenvironments;

  • Strong commercial experience with Go (our primary technology stack) or another modern statically typed backend language;

  • Practical experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems, with a deep understanding of performance optimization, scalability, capacity planning, and observability;

  • Strong knowledge of database internals, including indexing strategies, ACID transactions, query execution plans, and CAP theorem / consistency trade-offs;

  • Proven experience establishing and evolving engineering standards, technical governance, and architectural best practices across an engineering organization;

It’s cool to work with us

  • 20 paid vacation days + 15 unpaid vacation days;

  • 22 sick leave days, including mental health days;
